91_SR0446 LRB9115064RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Luevenia Shavers, who passed away on July 8, 2000; and 5 WHEREAS, Luevenia Shavers was born to William and Luezina 6 Boswell on January 2, 1911 in Montgomery, Alabama; and 7 WHEREAS, On September 13, 1926, she was united in Holy 8 Matrimony to the late Ralph Shavers, and to this union 9 sixteen children were born; and 10 WHEREAS, Luevenia Shavers was a member of the United 11 Missionary Baptist Church; and 12 WHEREAS, The passing of Luevenia Shavers will be deeply 13 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her daughters, 14 Katie Lindsey (husband, Arthur), Mozell Shavers, Elnora 15 Haralson (husband, James), Velma Parker (husband, Robert), 16 and Delores Shavers; her sons, Ralph Shavers Jr., Vernon 17 Shavers, and Mark Shavers (wife, Yvonne); her 18 daughters-in-law, Shirley Shavers, Wyonnie Shavers and 19 Blanche Shavers; her brother-in-law, Johnny Shavers; her 20 20 grandchildren, Linda, Valeda, LaTanya, Keith, Sharon, Daryl, 21 Lakiesha, Keisha, Venus, Valerie, LaChena, James, Charnell, 22 Lamont Jr., Vincent, Schunita, Jaquetta, Julius, Derrick and 23 Kerrence; her 25 great-grandchildren; her 2 great, great 24 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and 25 friends; therefore, be it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 28 all who knew her, the death of Luevenia Shavers of Chicago, 29 Illinois; and be it further 30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 31 presented to the family of Luevenia Shavers.
