(CRONIN) 105 ILCS 5/21-2c new Amends the School Code to require the State Board of Education to establish and administer a mentor teaching program for persons who hold Initial Teaching Certificates. FISCAL NOTE (State Board of Education) A mentor teaching program, either by itself or as part of a comprehensive induction initative would estimate at $100,000 in the initial year. Depending on the extent of the mentor teaching program established, the cost locally could range from $4,000,000-$7,500,000 to $16,000,000-$30,000,000 in a single year.
