MCGUIRE-BOLAND AND O'BRIEN. New Act Creates the Long-Term Care Planning Strategy Act. Establishes a long-term care planning committee composed of individuals who are knowledgeable and employed in the areas of long-term care, geriatric care, community services for the elderly, long-term care facility inspection, or quality of care assurance to develop strategies to maximize independence of the older adult population and achieve a broad awareness and use of low-cost home care and other residential alternatives to nursing homes. Establishes Seniors' Agenda for Independent Living projects in at least 4 counties to build a community-based approach and commitment to delivering long-term care services for elderly persons in their homes. FISCAL NOTE (Department on Aging) Estimated fiscal impact for professional staff and administra- tion is $137,600.
