JONES,LOU. 35 ILCS 200/18-177 Amends the Property Tax Code. In provisions requiring the county clerk to abate a portion of the property taxes levied on certain property in a municipality with 1,000,000 or more inhabitants improved with a multifamily dwelling or a multi-building development consisting of 6 units or more and leased for not less than 20 years to a housing authority, deletes language providing that whenever a housing autho- rity is the lessee of property that is eligible for an abatement under this Section, the lease shall reflect a reduction in payments due un- der the lease from the housing authority in the full amount of the abatement. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Removes the substantive changes in the bill and instead makes a technical change in the leased low-rent housing abatement Section.
