HAMOS-FLOWERS-HARRIS AND DAVIS,MONIQUE. 820 ILCS 405/500 from Ch. 48, par. 420 Amends the Unemployment Insurance Act. Provides that an individual who is on leave of absence from his or her job for any reason specified in the federal Family and Medical Leave Act shall not be deemed unable to work, unavailable for work, or to have failed to actively seek work for any week ending during the period the absence is approved under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act, nor shall the individual be ineligible for benefits on the basis of involuntarily leaving work. Provides that a maximum of 12 weeks of benefits are payable under these provisions. Provides for reducing benefits in proportion to what the individual is receiving under a disability insurance plan. Provides that 2 years after the effective date of this amendatory Act, the Director of Employment Security shall report to the Governor and the General Assembly on the effectiveness of these provisions.
