HALVORSON. (SCULLY-MCKEON) 730 ILCS 5/3-14-1 from Ch. 38, par. 1003-14-1 Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Requires the Department of Corrections, at least 14 days before release of a felon from prison, to notify the Secretary of State and the circuit clerks of the circuit from which the offender was committed and into which the offender is to be released, of the impending release of the felon. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 3. Eliminates notification to the Secretary of State of release of a felon. Limits notification to the circuit clerk to cases only in which revocation upon release from the Department of Corrections of the person's driver's license was a part of the sentence. GOVERNOR'S AMENDATORY VETO MESSAGE Recommends that notification to the circuit clerk of the circuit from which a felony offender was committed and into which the offender is to be released must be made in cases in which revocation of a person's driver's license or privilege is required pursuant to the Illinois Vehicle Code rather than in cases in which revocation of the person's driver's license upon release from the Department of Correc- tions was a part of the sentence. 99-02-09 S FIRST READING 99-02-09 S REFERRED TO SENATE RULES COMMITTEE RULES 99-02-17 S ASSIGNED TO COMMITTEE JUDICIARY 99-02-25 S POSTPONED 99-03-03 S DO PASS 010-000-000 SJUD 99-03-03 S PLACED ON CALENDAR ORDER OF 2ND READING 99-03-04 99-03-17 S FILED WITH SECRETARY 99-03-17 S AMENDMENT NO. 01-HALVORSON 99-03-17 S AMENDMENT REFERRED TO SRUL 99-03-19 S AMENDMENT NO. 01-HALVORSON 99-03-19 S RULES REFERS TO SJUD 99-03-19 S SECOND READING 99-03-19 S PLACED ON CALENDAR ORDER OF 3RD READING 99-03-22 99-03-23 S AMENDMENT NO. 01-HALVORSON 99-03-23 S POSTPONED SJUD 99-03-23 S FILED WITH SECRETARY 99-03-23 S AMENDMENT NO. 02-HALVORSON 99-03-23 S AMENDMENT REFERRED TO SRUL 99-03-23 S AMENDMENT NO. 02-HALVORSON 99-03-23 S RULES REFERS TO SJUD 99-03-23 S FILED WITH SECRETARY 99-03-23 S AMENDMENT NO. 03-HALVORSON 99-03-23 S AMENDMENT REFERRED TO SRUL 99-03-24 S AMENDMENT NO. 03-HALVORSON 99-03-24 S RULES REFERS TO SJUD 99-03-24 S AMENDMENT NO. 01-HALVORSON 99-03-24 S POSTPONED SJUD 99-03-24 S AMENDMENT NO. 02-HALVORSON 99-03-24 S POSTPONED SJUD 99-03-24 S AMENDMENT NO. 03-HALVORSON 99-03-24 S BE ADOPTED SJUD/006-000-000 99-03-24 S RECALLED TO SECOND READING 99-03-24 S AMENDMENT NO. 03-HALVORSON 99-03-24 S ADOPTED 99-03-24 S PLACED ON CALENDAR ORDER OF 3RD READING 99-03-25 99-03-25 S THIRD READING - PASSED 059-000-000 99-03-25 S TABLED PURSUANT TO RULE 5-49A) SA'S 01,02 99-03-25 S THIRD READING - PASSED 059-000-000 99-03-25 H ARRIVE IN HOUSE 99-03-25 H PLACED CALENDAR ORDER OF FIRST READING 99-03-26 H HOUSE SPONSOR MCGUIRE 99-03-26 H FIRST READING 99-03-26 H REFERRED TO HOUSE RULES COMMITTEE RULES 99-04-14 H ASSIGNED TO COMMITTEE JUD-CRIMINAL 99-04-21 H ALTERNATE PRIMARY SPONSOR CHANGED TO SCULLY 99-04-22 H DO PASS/SHORT DEBATE 013-000-000 HJUB 99-04-22 H PLACED CALENDAR 2ND READING-SHORT DEBATE 99-04-28 H SECOND READING-SHORT DEBATE 99-04-28 H PLCD CAL ORDER 3RD READING-SHORT DEBATE 99-04-28 H ADDED AS A JOINT SPONSOR MCKEON 99-04-29 H THIRD READING/SHORT DEBATE/PASSED 115-000-000 99-04-29 S PASSED BOTH HOUSES 99-05-28 S SENT TO THE GOVERNOR 99-07-23 S GOVERNOR AMENDATORY VETO 99-11-04 S PLACED CALENDAR AMENDATORY VETO NOVEMBER 16, 1999 99-11-18 S BILL DEAD-AMENDATORY VETO END OF INQUIRY Full Text Bill Summary
