JACOBS. (NOVAK-BRUNSVOLD) 65 ILCS 5/8-11-2 from Ch. 24, par. 8-11-2 Amends the Illinois Municipal Code concerning the municipal electric retail tax. Provides that a municipality may establish rates reasonably calculated to produce revenues that equal the maximum total revenues the municipality could have received under the retail tax in either of the last 2 full calendar years (now the last full calendar year). Provides that the provisions are effective for a municipality that is served by an Illinois electric utility with more than 12,500 customers for which an unrelated decrease in base rates has been or is placed into effect between October 1, 1996 and the dates specified in the rate transition provision of the Electric Service Customer Choice and Rate Relief Law of 1997 in the Public Utilities Act.
