        Amends the Downstate Firefighter Article  of  the  Pension  Code.      
   Authorizes  the  entity  that operates the Argonne National Laboratory      
   under contract from the  U.S.  Department  of  Energy  (currently  the      
   University  of  Chicago)  to  create  and  administer  a firefighters'      
   pension fund for the firefighters  that  it  employs.    Provides  for      
   funding by the employer.  Effective immediately.                            
          PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission)                               
          SB 836 would not affect the accrued liability of annual costs        
          of any current Downstate Firefighters' Pension Fund.
