Provides that graduate audiology students may dispense hearing instruments as part of a program of audiology without a license under the supervision of a licensed audiologist. Repeals a Section of the Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Act concerning graduate audiology students. Effective January 1, 2001. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that specified graduate audiology students may dispense hearing instruments without a license under the supervision of a licensed audiologist (rather than a licensed hearing instrument dispenser). Adds a licensed hearing instrument dispenser to the Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Board. Increases the fees for application for a license and for the license itself. Amends the Illinois Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Practice Act. Provides that the Department of Professional Regulation shall discipline the supervisor of a graduate audiology student as provided in the Act and enforce the Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Act and its rules as they apply to licensed audiologists. Provides that specified graduate audiology students may dispense hearing instruments without a license under the supervision of a licensed audiologist. Provides for the collection and deposit of a Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Fee. Effective January 1, 2001. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that the fee for a license for a person obtaining his or her supervised professional experience as required for licensure under the Illinois Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Practice Act shall be $60 per one year licensure period.
