Short description: CIRCUIT BREAKER-DRUGS COVERED Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons Property Tax Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act. Changes the drugs covered under the Pharmaceutical Assistance program from any cardiovascular agent or drug, any insulin or other prescription drug used in the treatment of diabetes, or any prescription drug used in the treatment of arthritis to any product, except those products covered by the Illinois Controlled Substances Act, that by federal law cannot be dispensed unless ordered by a physician, dentist, or podiatrist. Provides that the pharmacy formulary used by the Department of Revenue shall be adopted by rule and shall be no more restrictive than the pharmacy formulary adopted by the Department of Public Aid in its administration of the medical assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Effective immediately.
