House Sponsors: CROSS. Short description: FOOD SERVICE INCENTIVE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the Food Service Employee Incentive Program Act. Permits employers who are engaged as restaurant or food service operators in this State to participate in the Food Service Employee Incentive Program. Provides that participating employers shall create and maintain an Employee Incentive Account consisting of an amount equal to the difference between the minimum wage and the entry level wage for the position. Provides that upon the conclusion of the training period or sooner, in the event of the employee's promotion before the conclusion of the training period, the employer shall pay the employee the normal entry level wage plus an amount equal to the amount credited to the employee's name in the Employee Incentive Account divided by the number of weeks, or part of a week, the employee was in the training period. Provides that the Department of Labor shall enforce the Act. Amends the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act. Includes in the definitions of "wages" and "final compensation" payments to participants in the Food Service Employee Incentive Program.
