1 AN ACT concerning displaced homemakers.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Displaced Homemakers Assistance Act is
5 amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 615/3) (from Ch. 23, par. 3453)
7 Sec. 3. As used in this Act, unless the context clearly
8 indicates otherwise:
9 (a) "Displaced homemaker" means a person who (1) has
10 worked in the home for a substantial number of years
11 providing unpaid household services for family members, is a
12 single parent, or is preparing for non-traditional training
13 and employment; (2) is not gainfully employed; (3) has
14 difficulty in securing employment; and (4) was dependent on
15 the income of another family member but is no longer
16 supported by such income, or was dependent on federal
17 assistance but is no longer eligible for such assistance.
18 (b) "Director" means the Director of Commerce and
19 Community Affairs or its successor agency.
