1 AN ACT concerning professional regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended
5 by changing Section 6 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 60/6) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-6)
7 Sec. 6. Exclusive State power or function. It is
8 declared to be the public policy of this State, pursuant to
9 paragraphs (h) and (i) of Section 6 of Article VII of the
10 Illinois Constitution of 1970, that any power or function set
11 forth in this Act to be exercised by the State is an
12 exclusive State power or function. Such power or function
13 shall not be exercised concurrently, either directly or
14 indirectly, by any unit of local government, including home
15 rule units, except as otherwise provided in this Act.
