 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1907

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 1907 as follows:

 3    on  page  1,  line  10  by  replacing  "Section  3-648"  with
 4    "Sections 3-648 and 3-649"; and

 5    on page 2, below line 26, by inserting the following:

 6        "(625 ILCS 5/3-649 new)
 7        Sec. 3-649.  West Point Bicentennial license plates.
 8        (a)  In addition to any other special license plate,  the
 9    Secretary,   upon   receipt   of   all  applicable  fees  and
10    applications made in the form prescribed by the Secretary  of
11    State,  may  issue  West Point Bicentennial license plates to
12    commemorate the 200th anniversary  of  the  founding  of  the
13    United  States  Military  Academy  at  West  Point,  N.Y. The
14    special West  Point  Bicentennial  plate  issued  under  this
15    Section  shall  be  affixed only to passenger vehicles of the
16    first division and motor  vehicles  of  the  second  division
17    weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. Plates issued under this
18    Section  shall  expire  according to the staggered multi-year
19    procedure established by Section 3-414.1 of this Code.
20        (b)  The design, color, and format of the plates shall be
21    wholly within the discretion of the Secretary of State.   The
22    Secretary  may, in his or her discretion, allow the plates to

 1    be issued as vanity plates or personalized in accordance with
 2    Section 3-405.1 of this Code.  The plates are not required to
 3    designate "Land Of Lincoln", as prescribed in subsection  (b)
 4    of  Section  3-412 of this Code.  The Secretary shall approve
 5    and prescribe stickers or decals as  provided  under  Section
 6    3-412.
 7        (c)  An applicant shall be charged a $15 fee for original
 8    issuance  in  addition  to  the  applicable registration fee.
 9    This additional fee shall be deposited into the Secretary  of
10    State  Special  License  Plate  Fund.  For  each registration
11    renewal period, a $2 fee,  in  addition  to  the  appropriate
12    registration  fee,  shall  be  charged and shall be deposited
13    into the Secretary of State Special License Plate Fund.".
