Expenditures for this purpose may be made by the 4 Department of Transportation without regard to the fiscal 5 year in which benefit or service was rendered or cost 6 incurred as allowable or provided by the Workers' 7 Compensation Act or the Workers' Occupational Diseases Act. 8 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS, HIGHWAYS 9 PERMANENT IMPROVEMENTS 10 Section 2. The sum of $425,000, or so much thereof as 30 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Road Fund to the 31 Department of Transportation for repair of damages by 32 motorists to state vehicles and equipment or replacement of -6- BOB-DOT02 1 state vehicles and equipment, provided such amount shall not 2 exceed funds to be made available from collections from 3 claims filed by the Department to recover the costs of such 4 damages. 5 AWARDS AND GRANTS 6 Section 4b. The sum of $2,286,900, or so much thereof as 7 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Road Fund to the 8 Department of Transportation for reimbursement to 9 participating counties in the County Engineers Compensation 10 Program, providing those reimbursements do not exceed funds 11 to be made available from their federal highway allocations 12 retained by the Department. 13 Section 4b1. The sum, of $984,200,000, or so much 12 thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Road 13 Fund to the Department of Transportation for preliminary 14 engineering and construction engineering and contract costs 15 of construction, including reconstruction, extension and 16 improvement of State highways, arterial highways, roads, 17 access areas, roadside shelters, rest areas, fringe parking 18 facilities and sanitary facilities, and such other purposes 19 as provided by the "Illinois Highway Code"; for purposes 20 allowed or required by Title 23 of the U.S. Code; for 21 bikeways as provided by Public Act 78-0850; and for land 22 acquisition and signboard removal and control, junkyard 23 removal and control and preservation of natural beauty; and 24 for capital improvements which directly facilitate an 25 effective vehicle weight enforcement program, such as scales 26 (fixed and portable), scale pits and scale installations, and 27 scale houses, in accordance with applicable laws and 28 regulations. 29 Section 16b1. The sum, $865,000,000, or so much thereof 30 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the State 31 Construction Account Fund to the Department of Transportation 32 for preliminary engineering and construction engineering and -18- BOB-DOT02 1 contract costs of construction, including reconstruction, 2 extension and improvement of State highways, arterial 3 highways, roads, access areas, roadside shelters, rest areas, 4 fringe parking facilities and sanitary facilities, and such 5 other purposes as provided by the "Illinois Highway Code"; 6 for purposes allowed or required by Title 23 of the U.S. 7 Code; for bikeways as provided by Public Act 78-0850; and for 8 land acquisition and signboard removal and control, junkyard 9 removal and control and preservation of natural beauty; and 10 for capital improvements which directly facilitate an 11 effective vehicle weight enforcement program, such as scales 12 (fixed and portable), scale pits and scale installations, and 13 scale houses, in accordance with applicable laws and 14 regulations. 15 Section 16b2. The sum of $175,700, or so much thereof as 4 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 5 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 6 heretofore made in Article 17 Section 38 of Public Act 7 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the General 8 Revenue Fund to the Illinois Department of Transportation for 9 resurfacing and cold milling on Illinois River Bridge in 10 Morris. 11 Section 36. The sum of $5,300, or so much thereof as may 12 be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of business 13 on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation heretofore made in 14 Article 17, Section 39 of Public Act 91-706, as amended, is 15 reappropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois 16 Department of Transportation for Crete Township for sewer and 17 water projects, including but not limited to, land 18 acquisition and easements near the Calumet Gardens 19 subdivision. 20 Section 37. The sum of $5,000, or so much thereof may be 21 necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of business on 22 June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation heretofore made in 23 Article 17, Section 40 of Public Act 91-706, as amended, is 24 reappropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois 25 Department of Transportation for Lake County for intersection 26 improvements at Route 132 and Deep Lake Road. 27 Section 38. The sum of $870,000, or so much thereof as 28 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 29 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 30 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 41 of Public Act -66- BOB-DOT02 1 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the General 2 Revenue Fund to the Illinois Department of Transportation for 3 reconstructing and resurfacing Wood Street from Illinois 4 Route 83 to 171st Street and traffic lights at 162nd Street 5 in Markham. 6 Section 39. The sum of $54,000, or so much thereof as 7 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 8 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 9 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 43 of Public Act 10 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 11 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for a 12 grant to the Village of Olympia Fields for the purpose of 13 completing Phase I of Transit Oriented Development. 14 Section 40. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as 15 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 16 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 17 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 51 of Public Act 18 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Road Fund to 19 the Department of Transportation for an engineering study for 20 an interchange of I-80 at Mile Marker 101 in LaSalle County. 21 Section 41. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as 22 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 23 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 24 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 57 of Public Act 25 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 26 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for a 27 grant to the Village of Park Forest for the purpose of all 28 costs associated with Plank Road parking lot and 29 construction. 30 Section 42. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as -67- BOB-DOT02 1 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 2 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 3 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 61 of Public Act 4 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 5 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for a 6 grant to the City of Wheeling for the purpose of pedestrian 7 crossing improvements. 8 Section 43. The sum of $8,568,200, or so much thereof as 9 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 10 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 11 heretofore made in Article 16, Section 27 and Article 17 12 Section 65 of Public Act 91-706, as amended, is 13 reappropriated from the Fund for Illinois' Future to the 14 Department of Transportation for preliminary engineering and 15 construction engineering and contract costs of construction, 16 including, but not limited to, reconstruction, extension and 17 improvement of highways, arterial highways, roads, access 18 areas, roadside shelters, rest areas, fringe parking 19 facilities, storage and sanitary facilities, equipment, 20 traffic control, sidewalks, pedestrian overpasses, and such 21 other purposes as provided by the "Illinois Highway Code"; 22 for purposes allowed or required by Title 23 of the U.S. 23 Code; for bikeways as provided by Public Act 78-850; and for 24 land acquisition and signboard removal and control, junkyard 25 removal and control and preservation of natural beauty; for 26 signage and warning lights; and for capital improvements 27 which directly facilitate an effective vehicle weight 28 enforcement program, such as scales (fixed and portable), 29 scale pits and scale installations, and scale houses, in 30 accordance with applicable laws and regulations; and for any 31 grants to units of local government to undertake any of the 32 aforementioned activities. -68- BOB-DOT02 1 Section 44. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as 2 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 3 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 4 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 66 of Public Act 5 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Capital 6 Development Fund to the Department of Transportation for 7 Route 1 traffic signal movement and reconstruction for the 8 Village of Steger. 9 Section 45. The sum of $400,000, or so much thereof as 10 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 11 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 12 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 68 of Public Act 13 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 14 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for a 15 grant to the Madison County Transit District for the 16 construction of the Collinsville Transit Center. 17 Section 46. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as 18 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 19 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 20 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 70 of Public Act 21 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 22 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for a 23 grant to the City of Lake Forest to construct a pedestrian 24 crossing. 25 Section 47. The sum of $30,000, or so much thereof as 26 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 27 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 28 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 71 of Public Act 29 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 30 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for a 31 grant to PACE to expand PACE bus service. -69- BOB-DOT02 1 Section 48. The sum of $300,000, or so much thereof as 2 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 3 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 4 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 72 of Public Act 5 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 6 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for a 7 grant to Metra for the purpose of landscaping, remodeling, 8 and repairing of the embankments and viaducts from 47th to 9 57th Streets. 10 Section 49. The sum of $23,800, or so much thereof as 11 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 12 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 13 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 73 of Public Act 14 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Capital 15 Development Fund to the Department of Transportation for 16 costs associated with the reconstruction of Industrial Drive. 17 Section 50. The sum of $10,100, or so much thereof as 18 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 19 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 20 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 74 of Public Act 21 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Capital 22 Development Fund to the Department of Transportation for 23 costs associated with the reconstruction of Airport Road and 24 Chartres Street. 25 Section 51. The sum of $75,000, or so much thereof as 26 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 27 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 28 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 75 of Public Act 29 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Capital 30 Development Fund to the Department of Transportation for a 31 traffic signal at 51st Street West in Rock Island. -70- BOB-DOT02 1 Section 52. The sum of $23,000, or so much thereof as 2 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 3 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 4 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 76 of Public Act 5 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 6 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for 7 repair of 1st Street from Water Street and Brunner Street to 8 Bucklin Street in LaSalle. 9 Section 53. The sum of $1,443,800, or so much thereof as 10 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 11 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 12 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 77 of Public Act 13 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 14 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for 15 infrastructure improvements, including but not limited to 16 engineering and construction engineering, extension and 17 improvements of highways, roads, access areas, roadside 18 shelters, rest areas, fringe parking facilities, storage and 19 sanitary facilities, equipment, traffic controls, sidewalks, 20 signage. 21 Section 54. The sum of $50,000, or so much thereof as 22 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 23 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 24 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 78 of Public Act 25 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Fund for 26 Illinois' Future to the Department of Transportation for 27 renovation of the Wood Dale METRA station. 28 Section 55. The sum of $500,000, or so much thereof as 29 may be necessary, and remains unexpended at the close of 30 business on June 30, 2001, from the reappropriation 31 heretofore made in Article 17, Section 79 of Public Act -71- BOB-DOT02 1 91-706, as amended, is reappropriated from the Capital 2 Development Fund to the Department of Transportation for a 3 grant to the City of Peru for road improvements on Shooting 4 Park Road. 5 Section 56.
