1 AN ACT concerning utilities.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by
5 changing Section 8-201 as follows:
6 (220 ILCS 5/8-201) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 8-201)
7 Sec. 8-201. Denial of essential services. It is the
8 policy of this State that no person should be denied
9 essential utility service during the winter months due to
10 financial inability to pay. It is also the policy of this
11 State that public utilities and residential heating customers
12 deal with each other in good faith and fair manner.
