 1        AN ACT in relation to counties.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Counties  Code  is  amended  by  changing
 5    Section 5-1079 as follows:

 6        (55 ILCS 5/5-1079) (from Ch. 34, par. 5-1079)
 7        Sec.  5-1079.  Liability  insurance.  A  county board may
 8    insure against any loss or liability of any officer, employee
 9    or agent  of  the  county  resulting  from  the  wrongful  or
10    negligent  act  of  that any such officer, employee, or agent
11    while discharging and  engaged  in  his  or  her  duties  and
12    functions  and  acting  within the scope of his or her duties
13    and functions as  an  officer,  employee,  or  agent  of  the
14    county.    Liability  Such  insurance shall be carried with a
15    company authorized by the Department of  Insurance  to  write
16    that such coverage in Illinois.
