92_HB2825 LRB9202260TAtm 1 AN ACT concerning aging. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by 5 changing Section 2 as follows: 6 (20 ILCS 105/2) (from Ch. 23, par. 6102) 7 Sec. 2. Legislative purposes. 8 The ability of the constantly increasing number of aged 9 in the State to maintain self-sufficiency and personal 10 well-being with the dignity to which their years of labor 11 entitle them and to realize their maximum potential as 12 creative and productive individuals are matters of profound 13 import and concern for all of the people of this State. 14 The purposes of this Act are to provide a comprehensive 15 and coordinated service system for the State's aging 16 population, giving high priority to those persons in greatest 17 need; to conduct studies and research into the needs and 18 problems of the aging; and to insure participation by the 19 aging in the planning and operation of all phases of the 20 system. 21 (Source: P.A. 78-242.)
