1 AN ACT in relation to family law.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of
5 Marriage Act is amended by changing Section 509 as follows:
6 (750 ILCS 5/509) (from Ch. 40, par. 509)
7 Sec. 509. Independence of Provisions of Judgment or
8 Temporary Order.) If a party fails to comply with a provision
9 of a judgment, order or injunction, the obligation of the
10 other party to make payments for support or maintenance or to
11 permit visitation is not suspended; but the other party he
12 may move the court to grant an appropriate order.
