1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3145
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3145 on page 1, in
3 line 7 by replacing "reimbursement" with "allowance"; and
4 on page 1, by replacing lines 17 through 28 with the
5 following:
6 "an allowance for food and lodging equal to the amount per
7 day permitted to be deducted for such expenses under the
8 Internal Revenue Code, plus a mileage allowance at the rate
9 in effect under regulations promulgated pursuant to 5 U.S.C.
10 5707(b)(2) for the number of highway miles necessarily and
11 conveniently traveled, for every 20 miles necessary travel in
12 going to the seat of government to give his or her vote and
13 returning to his or her residence and otherwise performing
14 the official duties of an elector, to be computed by the most
15 usual route, the sum of $3, to be paid on the warrant of the
16 State Comptroller, out of any money in the treasury not
17 otherwise appropriated, and any person appointed by the
18 electors assembled to fill a vacancy shall also receive the
19 allowances compensation provided for electors".
