1 AN ACT concerning conservation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended
5 by changing Section 5 as follows:
6 (615 ILCS 5/5) (from Ch. 19, par. 52)
7 Sec. 5. Jurisdiction. The Department of Natural
8 Resources shall upon behalf of the State of Illinois, have
9 jurisdiction and supervision over all of the rivers and lakes
10 of the State of Illinois, wherein the State of Illinois or
11 the people of the State have any rights or interests, and
12 shall make a list by counties of all the waters of Illinois,
13 showing the waters, both navigable and non-navigable, that
14 are found in each county of the State, and if the same are
15 lakes, the extent of the shore lines and the amount, extent
16 and area of the water surface; and in a like way, if the same
17 are rivers, and specifying whether the same are navigable or
18 non-navigable, and whether they have or have not been
19 meandered.
