92_HB4135 LRB9211619ACcd 1 AN ACT concerning blood donation. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Blood Donation Act is amended by 5 changing Section 1 as follows: 6 (210 ILCS 15/1) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 600) 7 Sec. 1. (a) Any person 1617years of age or older may 8 donate blood, if the donation be completely voluntary, 9 without the necessity of obtaining the permission or 10 authorization of his or her parent or guardian. 11 (b) Any person 1516years of age and in possession of a 12 legal and valid Illinois driver's license or instruction 13 permit may donate blood, if that person obtains written 14 permission or authorization from his or her parent or 15 guardian. 16 No donation shall be construed to be involuntary within 17 the meaning of this Section solely because the donor receives 18 a right to any lawful preference or special treatment of any 19 kind in receiving blood in return for his donation. 20 (Source: P.A. 86-540.) 21 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 22 becoming law.
