1 AN ACT concerning conservation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Water Use Act of 1983 is amended by
5 changing Section 2 as follows:
6 (525 ILCS 45/2) (from Ch. 5, par. 1602)
7 Sec. 2. Declaration of policy Policy. The General
8 Assembly declares it to be in the public interest to better
9 manage and conserve water, to establish a mechanism for
10 restricting withdrawals of groundwater in emergencies, and to
11 provide for public notice of planned substantial withdrawals
12 of water after the effective date of this Act from new points
13 of withdrawal before water is withdrawn.
