92_HB4796eng HB4796 Engrossed LRB9211979BDpk 1 AN ACT concerning municipalities. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by 5 changing Section 10-1-9 as follows: 6 (65 ILCS 5/10-1-9) (from Ch. 24, par. 10-1-9) 7 Sec. 10-1-9. Examination fees. Every applicant who 8 desires to take any civil service examination provided by 9 this Division 1 may be required, at the time of making 10 application, to pay to the municipality a fee, as hereinafter 11 provided, to defray the expenses of such examination. If fees 12 are required by the municipality for the taking of such 13 examinations they shall be deposited in the general fund of 14 the municipality and shall not exceed the following: 15 Minimum salary of less than 16 $1,200 annually.............................50 cents 17 Minimum salary of $1,200 or over and 18 less than $2,000 annually.........................$1 19 Minimum salary of $2,000 or over and 20 less than $3,000 annually.........................$2 21 Minimum salary of $3,000 or 22 more annually.....................................$3 23 (Source: Laws 1961, p. 3252.)
