92_HB4844 LRB9213396DJgc 1 AN ACT in relation to minors. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Juvenile Court Act of 1987 is amended by 5 changing Section 2-19 as follows: 6 (705 ILCS 405/2-19) (from Ch. 37, par. 802-19) 7 Sec. 2-19. Preliminary orders after filing a petition. 8 In all cases involving physical abuse the court shall order, 9 and in all cases involving neglect or sexual abuse the court 10 may order, an examination of the child under Section 2-11 of 11 this Act or by a physician appointed or designated for this 12 purpose by the court. As part of the examination, the 13 physician shall arrange to have color photographs taken, as 14 soon as practical, of areas of trauma visible on the child 15 and may, if indicated, arrange to have a radiological 16 examination performed on the child. The physician, on the 17 completion of the examination, shall forward the results of 18 the examination together with the color photographs to the 19 State's Attorney of the county of the court ordering thesuch20 examination. The court may dispense with the examination in 21 those cases which were commenced on the basis of a physical 22 examination by a physician. Unless color photographs have 23 already been taken or unless there are no areas of visible 24 trauma, the court shall arrange to have color photographs 25 taken if no such examination is conducted. 26 (Source: P.A. 87-1148.)
