1 AN ACT concerning the regulation of professions.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Professional Geologist Licensing Act is
5 amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 745/10)
7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2006)
8 Sec. 10. Declaration of public policy. The practice of
9 professional geology in this the State of Illinois is hereby
10 declared to affect the public health, safety, and well-being
11 of its citizens and to be subject to regulation and control
12 in the public interest. It is further declared that the
13 practice of professional geology, as defined in this Act,
14 merits the confidence of the public, and that only qualified
15 persons shall be authorized to engage in the practice of
16 professional geology in the State of Illinois. This Act
17 shall be liberally construed to best carry out this purpose.
