1 AN ACT concerning professional regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Interior Design Title Act is amended by
5 changing Section 2 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 310/2) (from Ch. 111, par. 8202)
7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2012)
8 Sec. 2. Public policy. Interior design in the State of
9 Illinois is hereby declared to affect the public health,
10 safety, and welfare and to be subject to regulation and
11 control in the public interest. It is further declared to be
12 of public interest to recognize and define the separate
13 discipline of residential interior design. It is further
14 declared to be a matter of public interest and concern that
15 the interior design and residential interior design
16 professions merit and receive the confidence of the public
17 and that only qualified persons be permitted to use the title
18 of interior designer or residential interior designer in the
19 State of Illinois. This Act must shall be liberally
20 construed to carry out these objectives and purposes.
