1 AN ACT in relation to public employee benefits.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
5 changing Section 4-101 as follows:
6 (40 ILCS 5/4-101) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 4-101)
7 Sec. 4-101. Creation of firefighters' pension fund. In
8 each municipality as defined in Section 4-103, the city
9 council or the board of trustees, as the case may be, shall
10 establish and administer a firefighters' pension fund as
11 prescribed in this Article, for the benefit of its
12 firefighters and of their surviving spouses, children and
13 certain other dependents.
