92_HB5275 LRB9211638ACcd 1 AN ACT concerning professional regulation. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Clinical Social Work and Social Work 5 Practice Act is amended by changing Section 5 as follows: 6 (225 ILCS 20/5) (from Ch. 111, par. 6355) 7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2008) 8 Sec. 5. Powers and duties of the Department. 9 1. The Department mustshallexercise the powers and 10 duties as set forth in this Act. 11 2. The Director mustshallpromulgate rules consistent 12 with the provisions of this Act for the administration and 13 enforcement thereof, and shall prescribe forms which must 14shallbe issued in connection therewith. 15 3. In addition, the Department mustshall: 16 (a) Establish rules for determining approved 17 undergraduate and graduate social work degree programs and 18 prepare and maintain a list of colleges and universities 19 offering such approved programs whose graduates, if they 20 otherwise meet the requirements of this Act, are eligible to 21 apply for a license. 22 (b) Promulgate rules, as may be necessary, for the 23 administration of this Act and to carry out the purposes 24 thereof and to adopt the methods of examination of candidates 25 and to provide for the issuance of licenses authorizing the 26 independent practice of clinical social work or the practice 27 of social work. 28 (c) Authorize examinations to ascertain the 29 qualifications and fitness of candidates for a license to 30 engage in the independent practice of clinical social work 31 and in the practice of social work, and to determine the -2- LRB9211638ACcd 1 qualifications of applicants from other jurisdictions to 2 practice in Illinois. 3 (d) Maintain rosters of the names and addresses of all 4 licensees, and all persons whose licenses have been 5 suspended, revoked or denied renewal for cause within the 6 previous calendar year. These rosters shall be available 7 upon written request and payment of the required fee. 8 (Source: P.A. 85-1131.)
