92_HB5278 LRB9211643ACcd 1 AN ACT in relation to the regulation of professions. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended 5 by changing Section 10 as follows: 6 (225 ILCS 60/10) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-10) 7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2007) 8 Sec. 10. Duties of the Department. The Department shall: 9 (A) Make rules for establishing reasonable minimum 10 standards of educational requirements to be observed by 11 medical, osteopathic and chiropractic colleges.;12 (B) Effectuate the policy of the State of Illinois that 13 the quality of medical training is an appropriate concern in 14 the recruiting, licensing, credentialing and participation in 15 residency programs of physicians. However, it is 16 inappropriate to discriminate against any physician because 17 of national origin or geographic location of medical 18 education.;19 (C) Formulate rules and regulations required for the 20 administration of this Act. 21 (Source: P.A. 86-573.)
