1 AN ACT concerning professional regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Interior Design Title Act is amended by
5 changing Section 2 as follows:

8 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2012)
9 Sec. 2. Public policy. Interior design in the State of
10 Illinois is hereby declared to affect the public health,
11 safety, and welfare and to be subject to regulation and
12 control in the public interest. It is further declared to be
13 of public interest to recognize and define the separate
14 discipline of residential interior design. It is further
15 declared to be a matter of public interest and concern that
16 the interior design and residential interior design
17 professions merit and receive the confidence of the public
18 and that only qualified persons be permitted to use the title
19 of interior designer or residential interior designer in the
20 State of Illinois. This Act must shall be liberally
21 construed to carry out these objectives and purposes.
