92_HB5287 LRB9211631LDpk 1 AN ACT in relation to the regulation of professions. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Professional Boxing Act is amended by 5 changing Section 10 as follows: 6 (225 ILCS 105/10) (from Ch. 111, par. 5010) 7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2012) 8 Sec. 10. Required licenses.Who must be licensed.In 9 order to participate in boxing contests, the following 10 persons must each be licensed and in good standing with the 11 Department: (a) promoters, (b) contestants, (c) seconds, (d) 12 referees, (e) judges, (f) managers, (g) matchmakers, and (h) 13 timekeepers. 14 Announcers may participate in boxing contests without 15 being licensed under this Act. It shall be the 16 responsibility of the promoter to ensure that announcers 17 comply with the Act,and all rules and regulations 18 promulgated pursuant to this Act. 19 A licensed promoter may not act as, and cannot be 20 licensed as, a second, boxer, referee, timekeeper, judge, or 21 manager. If he or she is so licensed, he or she must 22 relinquish any of these licenses to the Department for 23 cancellation. A person possessing a valid promoter's license 24 may act as a matchmaker. 25 (Source: P.A. 91-408, eff. 1-1-00; 92-499, eff. 1-1-02.)
