1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Human Service Center was established in
3 1976, a consolidation of the Comprehensive Mental Health
4 Board of Central Illinois, the Peoria Mental Health Clinic,
5 the Stonehedge Foundation, Inc., and the Peoria Area Council
6 on Alcoholism; and
7 WHEREAS, The Human Service Center's purpose is to provide
8 a comprehensive program of mental health and substance abuse
9 services, fully accessible to those in need, while
10 integrating other social and health care systems, and
11 responsive to changing needs of Peoria County, Illinois
12 citizens; and
13 WHEREAS, Throughout the years and with dynamic change,
14 the Human Service Center has emerged as an important and
15 vital part of Peoria and Peoria County; and
16 WHEREAS, The Human Service Center led by a dedicated
17 Board and by its executive, John F. Gilligan, Phd., has
18 received National and statewide recognition as an innovative
19 provider of health care to the mentally ill; and
20 WHEREAS, On February 25, 2001, a dinner will celebrate
21 twenty-five years of service provided by the Human Service
22 Center; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we congratulate the men and women of the Human Service Center
26 as they celebrate the organization's twenty-fifth
27 anniversary; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the staff of the Human Service Center.
