92_HR0073 LRB9207683RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to extend their sincere condolences to 4 the family and friends of Edward J. Barry of Oak Lawn, 5 Illinois who passed away on January 31, 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, Edward J. Barry was born on July 25, 1920 in 7 Chicago to Eugene and Ann Barry; Edward and his siblings, 8 Helen-Kaye, Mary, Jack, Eugene, Phillip and Ann were raised 9 in the parish of St. Leo; and 10 WHEREAS, Edward J. Barry served our country in World War 11 II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart; his service to 12 country and community continued as he served over twenty 13 years with the Chicago Police Department and ascended to the 14 position of Sergeant; and 15 WHEREAS, Edward J. Barry married Norine Judge on April 16 15, 1950; they raised their four children, Michael, Maureen, 17 Edward Jr., and Laura, at 79th and Whipple in the parish of 18 St. Thomas More; and they are the proud grandparents of seven 19 grandchildren, Bridget, Nora, Ashley, Eddie III, Abbey, 20 Michael and Patrick; and 21 WHEREAS, Edward J. Barry was a member of the Elks Lodge 22 #1596 and St. Thomas More Holy Name Society; and 23 WHEREAS, Edward J. Barry was a loving son, brother, 24 father, uncle, grandfather and a loyal friend and known to be 25 a caring and generous man; and 26 WHEREAS, The passing of Edward J. Barry will be deeply 27 felt by all who knew and loved him; therefore, be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 29 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 30 we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of -2- LRB9207683RHrh 1 Edward J. Barry of Oak Lawn, Illinois; and be it further 2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 3 presented to the family of Edward J. Barry.
