1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of Thurman E. Yates of Eldorado,
5 Illinois, who recently passed away; and
6 WHEREAS, Thurman Yates was born in Eldorado on June 12,
7 1927; his parents were Hiram and Laura (Leek) Yates; on
8 January 8, 1949 he married Clara Podrasky; and
9 WHEREAS, Thurman Yates was a retired Illinois State
10 Trooper, serving bravely for thirty-three years; in 1998 he
11 retired after twelve years of serving as a security guard for
12 Kerr-McGee mines; and
13 WHEREAS, Thurman Yates was a veteran of the United States
14 Navy, serving in World War II; and
15 WHEREAS, The passing of Thurman Yates will be deeply felt
16 by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Clara;
17 his son, Larry (wife, Julie); his daughter, Sue; his brother,
18 Kenneth; his grandchildren, Philip, Elizabeth, and Ben; and
19 his three nieces; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we mourn the passing of Thurman Yates and send our sympathies
23 to his family and friends; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the family of Thurman Yates.
