1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the General Assembly are pleased
3 to honor milestones in the State of Illinois; and
4 WHEREAS, The North Cook Soil & Water Conservation
5 District is celebrating 50 years of providing soil and water
6 conservation services and education to the residents and
7 landowners of North Cook County; and
8 WHEREAS, North Cook County Soil & Water Conservation
9 District encompasses all of Cook County north of 22nd Street;
10 the chairperson of the North Cook County Soil & Water
11 Conservation District is Virginia Hayter; and
12 WHEREAS, The North Cook County Soil & Water Conservation
13 District is involved in a number of programs and efforts to
14 make soil and water conservation a priority to all
15 landowners; these programs include involvement in the Total
16 Maximum Daily Load projects and programs and studying water
17 quality and urban sprawl issues that have become a great
18 concern to the residents of Cook County within the last ten
19 years; and
20 WHEREAS, The North Cook County Soil & Water Conservation
21 District is involved in the Great Lakes Coalition to help the
22 State of Illinois in its effort to better protect and
23 increase water quality in Lake Michigan; and
24 WHEREAS, The North Cook County Soil & Water Conservation
25 District has formed partnerships with the Illinois Department
26 of Agriculture and the National Resource Conservation Service
27 to provide better water quality and urban soil conservation
28 in a continually growing and changing urban environment;
29 therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
31 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate the North Cook County Soil & Water
2 Conservation District on the occasion of its fiftieth
3 anniversary; and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Virginia Hayter, chairperson of the North Cook
6 County Soil & Water Conservation District.
