92_HR0238 LRB9208743RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the 3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage 4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for 5 the people of the State of Illinois; and 6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs. 7 James Turnbull of Carol Stream, Illinois will celebrate the 8 sixtieth anniversary of their marriage; and 9 WHEREAS, James Turnbull and Dorothy Dewey were united in 10 holy matrimony on May 3, 1941 in Chicago; and 11 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of William (wife, 12 Susan) Turnbull and Joy (husband, Larry) Sampson and the 13 grandparents of three wonderful grandchildren, Eric, Ben, and 14 Neal; and 15 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its 16 highest plateaus when a couple such as James and Dorothy 17 Turnbull celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary; and 18 WHEREAS, The Turnbulls stand as examples of the best of 19 our society, and their love and devotion to each other and to 20 their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard 21 work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's 22 world; therefore, be it 23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 24 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 25 we congratulate James and Dorothy Turnbull on the occasion of 26 their sixtieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for 27 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children 28 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish 29 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it 30 further -2- LRB9208743RHrh 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
