1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to
3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people
4 of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Hannah
6 Catherine Zorger Wells of Chicago, Illinois is celebrating
7 the 100th anniversary of her birth; and
8 WHEREAS, Hannah Catherine Zorger Wells was born on May 9,
9 1901, in Middletown, Pennsylvania; and
10 WHEREAS, Hannah Catherine Zorger Wells married the late
11 Harold C. Wells in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on June 28,
12 1920; and
13 WHEREAS, Hannah Catherine Zorger Wells attended beauty
14 culture school in Chicago and afterwards set up a beauty shop
15 in her home, which she ran for many years; she also worked in
16 a grocery store and a seed company before retiring; and
17 WHEREAS, Hannah Catherine Zorger Wells is a lifetime
18 member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the
19 Daughters of the American Revolution; she enjoys reading and
20 telling stories from years gone by; and
21 WHEREAS, Hannah Catherine Zorger was the proud mother of
22 two children, the late Lora Wells, and the late Harold C.
23 Wells, Jr.; she is the proud grandmother of three
24 grandchildren, Carol Huck, Ronald Wells, and Sharon Britton;
25 the great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren, Sandy
26 Kowalkowski, Karen Moore, Deb Lee, Rich Wells, Scott Britton,
27 and Sara Britton, and the great great-grandmother of four
28 great great-grandchildren, Matthew and Miles Kowalkowski and
29 Andrea and Kyle Wells; therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we congratulate Hannah Catherine Zorger Wells on the occasion
3 of her 100th birthday and extend to her our sincere best
4 wishes for the future; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to Hannah Catherine Zorger Wells as an expression
7 of our respect and esteem.
