92_HR0269 LRB9208794RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in 4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Charles 6 Berglund is retiring from his duties as the Chairman of the 7 Speech Arts Department at Glenbard North High School in Carol 8 Stream, Illinois; and 9 WHEREAS, Charles Berglund has been an educator for the 10 past thirty-six years; of that, thirty-one years have been at 11 Glenbard North and five years at Glenbard East High School in 12 Lombard, Illinois; and 13 WHEREAS, Charles Berglund has directed over sixty plays 14 and musicals during his tenure at Glenbard North; and 15 WHEREAS, In March of 2001, Charles Berglund was the 16 recipient of the Coca Cola Educator of the Month award; this 17 award was voted on by his colleagues; and 18 WHEREAS, Charles Berglund has also served as Executive 19 Director of the Illinois State Theatre Festival and as a 20 member of the executive board of the Illinois Theatre 21 Association; and 22 WHEREAS, After his retirement, Charles Berglund plans to 23 pursue an acting career; and 24 WHEREAS, On May 25, 2001, the faculty and staff at 25 Glenbard North High School will host a party in celebration 26 of Charles Berglund's retirement; former students from every 27 year he taught will be attending as a tribute to how his 28 years as a devoted educator has made an impact on their 29 lives; therefore, be it 30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE -2- LRB9208794RHrh 1 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 2 we congratulate Charles Berglund on his retirement from 3 Glenbard North High School and we wish him well in all of his 4 future endeavors; and be it further 5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 6 presented to Charles Berglund as an expression of our esteem.
