92_HR0294 LRB9208821RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives offer our sincere congratulations to "Chip" 4 Norbert J. Zapinski on his retirement with James McHugh 5 Construction Company on the 19th day of April 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, "Chip" Zapinski, married to Patricia Zapinski, 7 loving father to his four sons Mike, Rob, Ken, Chuck, and 8 daughter Patricia, and caring grandfather to eleven 9 grandchildren; and 10 WHEREAS, "Chip" Zapinski is a member of Sacred Heart 11 Parish of Lombard for the past thirty years and a member of 12 the Holy Name Men's Group; and 13 WHEREAS, "Chip" Zapinski received his Bachelor of Science 14 in Civil Engineering from the University of Detroit in 1957; 15 and 16 WHEREAS, "Chip" Zapinski's achievements have benefited 17 Illinois in the numerous expansions and renovations that he 18 has led with McHugh since joining the company in 1957; and 19 WHEREAS, In forty-four years of service, "Chip" Zapinski 20 has gained a vast knowledge of Civil Engineering, through his 21 experience with strategic planning, construction means and 22 method, project management, project scheduling, labor 23 utilization, and value engineering; and 24 WHEREAS, "Chip" Zapinski, one of the most influential 25 members of the construction community in Illinois, has 26 demonstrated within the industry honesty, integrity, and 27 unrivaled leadership; and 28 WHEREAS, "Chip" Zapinski's depth of knowledge and ability 29 to produce excellent results under even the most difficult 30 circumstances is unmatched in the construction industry; and -2- LRB9208821RHrh 1 WHEREAS, The revitalization, building, and expansion of 2 buildings such as the Goodman Theatre, Hotel Monaco, Westin 3 Hotel Michigan Avenue, Hotel Allegro, McCormick Place 4 expansion, Presidential Towers operations, Chicago Place, 5 Marina City, O'Hare Hilton Hotel, Arlington Park Racecourse, 6 Chicago Civic Opera House, the Peggy Notebart Nature Museum 7 for the Chicago Academy of Sciences demonstrate "Chip" 8 Zapinski's extraordinary skill and ability; and 9 WHEREAS, We recognize the efforts of legendary "Chip" 10 Zapinski whose leadership has inspired the improvement and 11 construction of buildings in Illinois; and 12 WHEREAS, This achievement is a source of inspiration to 13 the entire community and State, building upon one of the 14 State's top construction companies; therefore, be it 15 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 16 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 17 we do hereby offer our congratulations to "Chip" Norbert 18 Zapinski; and be it further 19 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 20 presented to "Chip" Zapinski and his family.
