92_HR0307 LRB9208846RHrhB 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to 4 the family and friends of Howard Lee White, who passed away 5 on April 12, 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, Howard Lee White was born on August 5, 1924, in 7 Carrollton, Illinois, to Clifford and Martha White; and 8 WHEREAS, Howard Lee White proudly served his country 9 during World War II in the United States Navy; and 10 WHEREAS, Howard Lee White was a county judge from 1962 11 until 1963, an associate judge from 1964 until 1971, and 12 circuit judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit, State of 13 Illinois, from 1971 until 1984; after retirement from the 14 bench, he served as an attorney with McDonald, Cooper and 15 White Law Firm in Jerseyville; and 16 WHEREAS, Howard Lee White was an active member of the 17 First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville, the Illinois 18 Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the Illinois 19 Retired Judges Association, the US Golf Association, Moose 20 Lodge No. 695, Elks Lodge No. 954, American Legion Post No. 21 492, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4528, Masonic Lodge 22 No. 394, the Jersey County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, 23 the Jersey Community High School Panther Athletic Club, and 24 the Ainad Shrine Temple in St. Louis, Missouri; and 25 WHEREAS, Howard Lee White made a special effort to be a 26 part of his children's and grandchildren's lives, even if 27 they lived in another state or country; he could be found at 28 numerous athletic contests, recitals, and more commonplace 29 activities, both in and out of town; and 30 WHEREAS, Howard Lee White will always be remembered for 31 his love of high school football, playing golf at the -2- LRB9208846RHrhB 1 Westlake Country Club, and his sense of humor; and 2 WHEREAS, The passing of Howard Lee White will be deeply 3 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, 4 Freda; his daughters, Sharon W. (husband, David) Koplan, and 5 Carol R. White; his son, Ronald W. White; his grandchildren, 6 Marcus Bidlack, Brian Bidlack, Lance Bidlack, Kevin D. 7 Koplan, and Katie Koplan; therefore, be it 8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 9 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 10 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of Howard 11 Lee White of Jerseyville, Illinois; and be it further 12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 13 presented to the family of Howard Lee White with our sincere 14 condolences.
