92_HR0321 LRB9208881RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in 4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Carol Flint 6 has retired from a nearly twenty year career of service as 7 Grant Township Supervisor; and 8 WHEREAS, Carol Flint and her husband moved their family 9 to Hoopeston in 1979; she then went to work at Citizen's 10 Federal Savings and Loan, now Kankakee Federal Savings bank; 11 and 12 WHEREAS, After being persuaded by her neighbor, Carol 13 Flint applied for the position of Grant Township Supervisor; 14 she was officially appointed in August 1982 and has been 15 elected four times; and 16 WHEREAS, As Grant Township Supervisor, Carol Flint served 17 as treasurer for the highway commission monies, and handled 18 the township budgets, levies, and general bookkeeping duties; 19 she also supervised the assistance programs to Grant Township 20 residents who don't qualify or benefit from other welfare 21 programs; and 22 WHEREAS, Carol Flint accomplished much during her tenure, 23 including building a new facility, and establishing fire 24 protection and special ambulance service for rural Grant 25 Township; and 26 WHEREAS, Carol Flint also served as secretary of the 27 Township Supervisors of Illinois board for twelve years; and 28 WHEREAS, Carol Flint's plans for retirement life include 29 traveling with her husband, Chalmers, spending time with her 30 grandchildren, and completing all the things that she has -2- LRB9208881RHrh 1 been putting off for the last twenty years; therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 3 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 4 we congratulate Carol Flint on her retirement from a nearly 5 twenty year career of service as Grant Township Supervisor, 6 and we wish her well in all of her future endeavors; and be 7 it further 8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 9 presented to Carol Flint as an expression of our esteem.
