1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Brian K.
6 Leonard, Public Affairs Representative and Lobbyist for
7 AmerenCIPS, has been promoted to Assistant Regional Manager
8 in the Metro-East Region of Illinois; and
9 WHEREAS, In his 21 years of service to AmerenCIPS, Brian
10 K. Leonard began his career as a Meter Reader-Groundman in
11 Charleston and then served as a Gas Meter Repairman, Customer
12 Service Representative in Mattoon, and Superintendent in
13 Shelbyville, before being named to his former position; and
14 WHEREAS, Brian K. Leonard graduated from East St. Louis
15 Lincoln High School and went on to attend and graduate from
16 Eastern Illinois University with degrees in math and physical
17 education; while in college he served as Co-Captain of the
18 Panthers varsity football team; he then taught school at
19 Charleston High School; he is now returning to his hometown
20 of East St. Louis to supervise day to day operations of the
21 electric and gas utility business; and
22 WHEREAS, Brian K. Leonard has worked diligently with the
23 Black Caucus, promoting ideals of equality and opportunity
24 and inspiring those of African-American heritage; and
25 WHEREAS, Brian K. Leonard is the husband of Monique
26 Leonard and the cherished father of Brian Jr., Natasha, and
27 Jimmie (Jay); and
28 WHEREAS, Brian K. Leonard has volunteered his spare time
29 to serve various community groups, action agencies, and youth
30 programs; and

1 WHEREAS, Brian K. Leonard has been a fellow worker,
2 friend, and confidant to his associates at AmerenCIPS and to
3 many here in the General Assembly; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6 we congratulate our friend Brian Keith Leonard on his
7 promotion to Assistant Regional Manager and wish him
8 continued good fortune in his future endeavors; and be it
9 further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to Brian K. Leonard as an expression of our esteem.
