92_HR0431 LRB9209119RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Mrs Mayette Epps-Miller has been a long time, 3 law abiding, compassionate, caring and giving citizen to the 4 City of East St. Louis, Illinois; since 1923, she has been 5 living out the goals and ideals of that community; and 6 WHEREAS, Mrs. Epps-Miller recently celebrated her 100th 7 birthday on April 16, 2001; and 8 WHEREAS, Mrs. Epps-Miller has been a dedicated and active 9 member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of East St. 10 Louis; she has served on many committees, including the 11 Willing Workers, usher service, and as an active participant 12 in the missionary service where she has participated in many 13 wonderful acts for people less fortunate; and 14 WHEREAS, Mrs. Epps-Miller has been an active member of 15 the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, serving 16 in many leadership capacities, constantly working to make her 17 community a better place for all and providing comfort to 18 those people affected by war; and 19 WHEREAS, To this date, Mrs. Epps-Miller still exhibits 20 the true spirit and meaning of her city by caring for her 21 family and members of the community; therefore, be it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 23 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 24 we congratulate Mrs. Mayette Epps-Miller on the celebration 25 of her 100th birthday; and be it further 26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 27 presented to Mrs. Mayette Epps-Miller as an expression of our 28 esteem.
