92_HR0439 LRB9209146RHrhA 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in high 4 school sports in the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, The Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School 6 Boys Varsity Baseball Team, the Boilermakers, recently won 7 the 2001 State Class AA Baseball Championship held at 8 Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva, Illinois; and 9 WHEREAS, The Boilermakers met the challenge by first 10 defeating Mt. Vernon High School by a score of 8 to 2 in the 11 quarterfinal game; they then went on to defeat the team from 12 Chicago Marist High School in the semifinal game by the score 13 of 8 to 1; finally, they faced Oak Park River Forest High 14 School in the State finals; in the end, the Boilermakers 15 defeated Oak Park River Forest High School by the final score 16 of 5 to 2, and went home with the school's first State title; 17 and 18 WHEREAS, After the game, Kyle Arthur was named as the 19 tournament's Most Valuable Player; he was joined on the 20 all-tournament team by teammates Dan Haley, Wade Greenlee, 21 and Josh Perkins; and 22 WHEREAS, The Boilermakers consist of Aaron Moore, Matt 23 Brooks, Kyle Arthur, Tyler Grace, Ryan Scott, Jared Boicken, 24 Phil Pippin, Mark Williams, Josh Perkins, Drue Johnson, Ben 25 West, Tim Messer, Dan Haley, John Juergens, Matt Irps, Ben 26 Martin, Wade Greenlee, and Chad Turrell; their coach is Mike 27 Mulligan; and their assistant coaches are Todd Wolter, Bob 28 Lustig, Joe Powers, Will Patterson, and John Longtin; the 29 team ended the season with 28 wins and 8 losses; and 30 WHEREAS, The Boilermakers will be honored with a parade 31 through Bradley and Bourbonnais; after the parade, the team -2- LRB9209146RHrhA 1 will be presented with the State championship trophy in the 2 Donald M. Turner Gymnasium; therefore, be it 3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 4 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 5 we congratulate the Boilermakers, the Bradley-Bourbonnais 6 Community High School Boys Varsity Baseball Team, on winning 7 the 2001 State Class AA Baseball Championship; and be it 8 further 9 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 10 presented to Dennis Bossinger, the superintendent of 11 Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School, William Gamble, 12 the principal of Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School, 13 Mike Mulligan, the coach of the Boilermakers, Todd Wolter, 14 Bob Lustig, Joe Powers, Will Patterson, and John Longtin, the 15 assistant coaches, and to each member of the Boilermaker team 16 as an expression of our esteem.
