92_HR0442 LRB9209140RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in 4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Jack Hardy has 6 retired as principal of Mary Miller Junior High School after 7 eight years with the Georgetown-Ridge Farm School District; 8 and 9 WHEREAS, Jack Hardy is a graduate of Westville High 10 School; he earned his bachelor's of science degree in 11 business education from Eastern Illinois University and his 12 master's degree in business education and school 13 administration from Indiana State University; and 14 WHEREAS, Jack Hardy began his career in education at 15 Westville High School, where he was a teacher and coach for 16 twenty years and served as assistant principal for two years; 17 he then served as principal of Heritage High School and 18 Elementary School for four years and as principal at Mary 19 Miller Junior High School for the past eight years; and 20 WHEREAS, Besides working as a teacher and an 21 administrator, Jack Hardy spent many years coaching sports; 22 one of his most memorable moments as a coach was being 23 inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association 24 Hall of Fame in 1999; and 25 WHEREAS, Jack Hardy's plans for retirement include moving 26 to Lafayette, Indiana, where his wife is working at Purdue 27 University; he also plans to play golf, spend time with his 28 two sons, and work on a "to do" list; and 29 WHEREAS, Jack Hardy will be dearly missed by the faculty, 30 staff, and students, past and present, from the three school 31 districts that he has worked for during the past thirty-four -2- LRB9209140RHrh 1 years; therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 3 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 4 we congratulate Jack Hardy on his retirement after serving as 5 principal of Mary Miller Junior High School for the past 6 eight years and we wish him well in all of his future 7 endeavors; and be it further 8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 9 presented to Jack Hardy as an expression of our esteem.
