92_HR0450 LRB9209311RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Any child, whether he or she is natural, 3 adopted, or foster, is an integral part of any family unit; 4 and 5 WHEREAS, Children serve as a source of happiness for many 6 parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, as well as 7 older and younger siblings; and 8 WHEREAS, Our children are the basic resource for the 9 future of mankind; and 10 WHEREAS, With the breakdown of the family unit, the role 11 of the child has become devalued; therefore, be it 12 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 13 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 14 we recognize August 5, 2001 as "Children's Day" in the State 15 of Illinois in celebration of the love and pride that 16 children can bring to many lives; and be it further 17 RESOLVED, That as protectors, we need to educate our 18 children for a successful future, promote a suitable value 19 system, and protect and provide a system of support for them 20 from the cruelty and abuse that may unexpectedly enter their 21 lives.
