92_HR0491 LRB9210673RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in 4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Frank M. Clark 6 has been appointed to the position of president of ComEd; and 7 WHEREAS, Frank M. Clark is president of ComEd and senior 8 vice president of Exelon Corporation and Exelon Energy 9 Delivery, which is the distribution business unit for Exelon 10 Corporation headquartered in Chicago, Illinois; and 11 WHEREAS, A principal subsidiary of Exelon Corporation, 12 ComEd is engaged in the production, purchase, transmission, 13 distribution, and sale of electricity to wholesale and retail 14 customers; with nearly 8,000 employees, ComEd provides 15 service across one-fifth of Northern Illinois, serving 16 approximately 3.4 million customers or 70 percent of the 17 State's population; and 18 WHEREAS, In addition to the role of ComEd President, Mr. 19 Clark is responsible for Marketing Services and Property 20 Management for all of Exelon Energy Delivery, which includes 21 both ComEd and PECO Energy, based in southeastern 22 Pennsylvania; and 23 WHEREAS, Prior to his appointment as President, Mr. Clark 24 served as Executive Vice President responsible for various 25 ComEd functions including: Customer Service Operations; 26 Marketing and Sales; Regulatory; Governmental and Community 27 Affairs; Distribution Support Services; Communications 28 Services; Labor Relations; Human Resources; and Information 29 Technology; since joining ComEd in 1966, he has held various 30 positions in both corporate support and line functions; and 31 WHEREAS, Mr. Clark serves in the board of directors for -2- LRB9210673RHrh 1 Metropolitan Family Services, Governors State University 2 Foundation, the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce, and the 3 Chicago Legal Clinic, and on the board of trustees of 4 Roosevelt University and the Adler Planetarium; he is also a 5 member of the Chicago Bar Association, The Economic Club of 6 Chicago, and the Executives' Club of Chicago; and 7 WHEREAS, Mr. Clark received both his law and business 8 administration degrees from DePaul University; and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Clark was born in Chicago, Illinois and 10 resides in Hazel Crest with his wife; they are the parents of 11 two sons, Frank III and Steve; therefore, be it 12 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 13 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 14 we congratulate Frank M. Clark on his new appointment as 15 President of ComEd and we wish him well in his new venture; 16 and be it further 17 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 18 presented to Frank M. Clark as an expression of our esteem.
