92_HR0514 LRB9210963RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in junior 4 high school sports in the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, The Fulton Junior High 8th grade baseball team, 6 the O'Fallon Panthers, became the Tri-County Conference 7 Champions on October 4, 2001; and 8 WHEREAS, The Panthers met the challenge by first 9 defeating the Highland Junior High Bulldogs in the regional 10 playoffs; they then went on to defeat the Carmi Bulldogs by 11 the score of 4-0 in the quarterfinals; they then defeated 12 Anna Junior High in a nail-biter victory by the score of 1-0; 13 finally, they faced DuQuoin Junior High in the title game; 14 after beating DuQuoin by a score of 15-5, the Panthers 15 returned home as the new Tri-County Conference Champions; and 16 WHEREAS, The O'Fallon Panthers set a new school record by 17 finishing the season with 21 wins and 3 losses; and 18 WHEREAS, The O'Fallon Panther team consists of Brian 19 Gass, Zach McCarter, Jordan Colvin, Tyler Harris, Justin 20 Stewart, Matt Goldschmidt, Zach Valentine, Caleb Dziurdzy, 21 Scott Kennedy, Tyler Lauderdale, Sean Miller, Josh Boswell, 22 Mike Webster, Drew Hursey, Phil Rayford, and Justin Nash; the 23 coach is Tracy Lauderdale and the assistant coaches are Bill 24 Gass, Kellen Kettwich, Matt Wicinski, and Brian Evans; and 25 WHEREAS, In addition to their impressive athletic 26 ability, the O'Fallon Panthers recently demonstrated 27 impressive citizenship by raising more than $600 for the 28 Alzheimer's Association through their participation, along 29 with some 7th grade players, in the Metro East Memory Walk 30 2001 to help raise awareness of the disease and support the 31 services offered at the Alzheimer's Association; and -2- LRB9210963RHrh 1 WHEREAS, The O'Fallon Panther team displayed outstanding 2 sportsmanship, service, and dedication not only for Fulton 3 Junior High School, but also to their community; therefore, 4 be it 5 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 6 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 7 we congratulate the Fulton Junior High School 8th grade 8 baseball team on winning the 2001 Tri-County Conference 9 Championship and for their community service; and be it 10 further 11 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 12 presented to Coach Tracy Lauderdale, Assistant Coaches Billy 13 Gass, Kellen Kettwich, Matt Wicinski, and Brian Evans, and to 14 each member of the O'Fallon Panther team as an expression of 15 our esteem.
