92_HR0526 LRB9209080TAtm 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The Members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to recognize significant 4 milestones in the lives of the people of this State; and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Yvonne E. 6 Jones will be celebrating her 50th birthday on November 22, 7 2001; and 8 WHEREAS, Yvonne E. Jones was born on November 22, 1951, 9 in Chester, Pennsylvania, to Thomas Ellis, Sr., and Frances 10 Ellis; and 11 WHEREAS, Yvonne E. Jones attended college at Illinois 12 State University in Normal, Illinois, and received her B.S. 13 degree in Elementary Education in 1973; and 14 WHEREAS, Yvonne E. Jones went on to graduate school at 15 Governors State University in University Park, Illinois, and 16 received her M.A. degree in Computer Education in 1994; and 17 WHEREAS, After obtaining her masters degree, Yvonne E. 18 Jones taught for the Chicago Public Schools at various 19 elementary schools; she also served as a Lead Teacher, 20 sponsor, representative, and supervisor for various 21 extracurricular activities and assignments, including the 22 School Council, JTPA summer programs, summer school classes, 23 and various local and city-wide contests and programs; and 24 WHEREAS, Yvonne E. Jones subsequently served as Local 25 School Facilitator for the Chicago Systemic Initiative (CSI) 26 within the District Ten office; during this time she assisted 27 school design teams with planning and implementing strategies 28 for effectively changing mathematics, science, and 29 technology; chaired the District Ten CSI Design Team; and 30 planned and scheduled teacher training and parent workshops; 31 and -2- LRB9209080TAtm 1 WHEREAS, Today, and since 1995, Yvonne E. Jones has 2 served the Chicago Public Schools as Program Manager; in that 3 capacity she oversees the 10,000 Tutors volunteer program, 4 the College Assistant Program, and the CPS Prep Program; as 5 part of her responsibilities, she supervises the Regional 6 Tutoring Facilitators and Target Assistance Monitors and the 7 recruiting, training, and assigning of thousands of tutors 8 and volunteers; indeed, she is responsible for the success of 9 many programs vital to the well-being of our State; 10 therefore, be it 11 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 12 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 13 we congratulate Yvonne E. Jones on the occasion of her 50th 14 birthday and extend to her our sincere best wishes for the 15 future; and be it further 16 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 17 presented to Yvonne E. Jones as an expression of our respect 18 and esteem.
